Cannon Naval Base
You find yourself, controlling Barret, in the Junon Cannon Naval Base, actually praising Rufus for heroically fighting the ancient terrors known as the Weapons, who have been terrorizing the Planet ever since Meteor was summoned. Then, you're suddenly ordered to be executed!
Follow the goons and Tifa through teh rooms (one of which has a Save Point) until you end up in a crowded pressroom. (Notice the large dude in the front row.) Scarlet then sends Tifa to the gas chamber, straps her there, smacks her silly, then leaves with an evil "Kya, ya, ya!" Yet notice the key that falls from her as she leaves.
Suddenly, Junon is under attack by the Aquatic Weapon! The pressroom then empties, and the fat dude, who's really Cait Sith in disguise, knocks out Scarlet and leads Barret out into freedom. With enemy encounters recurring, follow Cait Sith north out of the room, then head east then south out the door. Head west and you'll encounter Yuffie (if you recrutied her), who's dressed up as a news reporter. Be sure Yuffie and Cait Sith have all the materia they need, then head west to the airfield (deja vu?). Head right for the Highwind.
As for the Weapon, you'll see in the flick
that the first blast of the cannon was a miss, and the Shinra
soldiers did their best to keep it at bay but failed. Then it
made a slit, and talk about perfect positioning as the slit was
made in the gas chamber, giving Tifa the perfect opportunity to
escape. Then, the Aquatic Weapon summons up more energy for a BIG
attack but BOOM! goes the cannon, shooting its head off.
As the Weapon founders into the ocean, the perception turns to
Tifa.
Use a combination of buttons to help Tifa get the key and emancipate herself. Then, examine the door and you'll find it locked. Next, head out through the opening made by the Aquatic Weapon and make a run for it down the tower as you're being chased by Scarlet and Shinra guards. Continue down the wall, then head north until you end up at teh tip of the cannon. Scarlet appears, and a slap fight ensues. Win it or not, the Highwind appears, and Tifa hops on. The Highwind then flies away from Junon.
