Lost in the Snow
After taking the path to the north, you'll find yourself in another one of FF7's "goodies." Snowboard about and take any path you wish. It doesn't matter how much time you take, but the paths you choose will determine where you end up in the Great Glacier.
After snowboarding about, you'll plop into
any of several areas in the Great Glacier. Since I don't know
where you landed, you'll have to explore around on your own,
using your map as your guide (press [SWITCH] to look at it). But
let me give you a couple of tips...
First of all, you can't stay out too long or you'll get hypothermia and pass out. Doing so will not kill you or harm you but will simply send you to your destination: the base of Gaea's Cliff where you'll meet Holzoff, a mountain climber who's lived there for the past twenty years. While you're still conscious, however, exploring about will give you several items, including the Alexander materia and the Added Cut materia.
The Added Cut materia can be found to the west. As for the Alexander materia, getting it is a bit more complicated. First of all, locate a lake where you find vapors rising from. Touch it, then leave and look for a cave with a person in it. Talk to the person after touching the vapors and she'll get pissed. A fight ensues between you and Snow, and if you defeat her, the Alexander materia will plop in sight. Oh, and another thing, leaving the Great Glacier is possible in two ways: coming through the entrance and going through Frostbite Cave somewhere in the middle of the place.
