The North Corel Express
Upon the Highwind, head back to North Corel. Upon arriving there, head west to the Gold Saucer and you'll find Dio, who'll tell you that the beloved amusment park is closed for the time being. No worries, though, as you can return to it later on and it'll be open.
After that, head back to North Corel proper and head north. Go across the suspension bridge and you'll hit the Corel Reactor. Dispatch the pair of guards, then enter the reactor. However, a train suddenly emerges and speeds off with the Huge Materia. Cid comes up with a plan, enters the reactor, and brings out a train as well. Hop aboard it and get ready for an old-fashioned train chase!
Speeding along the track parallel to the
train with the Huge Materia, you'll have to press several buttons
in succession to catch up with your target. Once there, hop
aboard it and prepare for a slew of battles! The battles, five in
all, are harder than normal but not boss-material. However, you
only have a limited time (10 minutes to be exact), so you'd
better hurry up! Cast big-ticket spells but avoid Summon spells
and Limit Breaks that take up too much time. If you manage to get
to the engineer's cabin on time, you'll have to dispatch a Shinra
guard then use combinations of buttons to stop the train. If you
can do all this in ten minutes, not only will you get the Huge
Materia, but the Ultima materia as well from the grateful
townspeople.
However, if you screw up, North Corel will be trashed (even more so) and you'll lose the Huge Materia. As for the Ultima materia, however, you'll still be able to get it, but you'll have to cough up 50,000 gil.
