Cloud's Persona
In this section, you'll reach down deep into Cloud's soul and uncover the real him. Though this section is long, listen up since a whole lot of things will be explained here.
Take Red XIII's suggestion and head back
to Mideel. Head to the hospital, and you'll find Tifa there,
still standing by Cloud's side. Suddenly, the earth shakes
violently and the Ultimate Weapon appears. Rush outside to face
it. Cast a multitude of spells on it, and it'll eventually fly
away. Note, however, you can goad it into more battle later on
and finally fight it to the death over Cosmo Canyon. (See the
section on Defeating the Ultimate Weapon for more info.)
After that, the earthquake gets worse. Cid
and the others rush out of the city, and Tifa pushes the
wheelchaired Cloud out of the hospital in hopes to flee from the
seisms. However, the floors collapse and theiy're sucked into the
Lifestream along with Mideel.
You soon find yourself, as Tifa, in an eerie place with four Clouds all aorund. Talk to the Cloud in the north and you'll emerge in a flashback of Nibelheim. Next, talk to the Cloud to the west and you'll emerge to the Nibel Reactor, where you'll witness Cloud keep his promise to Tifa.
Whe you get back, talk to the east Cloud and you'll catch a glimpse of Tifa's bedroom. In this flashback, you'll learn that Cloud and Tifa were never close childhood friends. Next, head north and relive the Nibelheim incident. There, you'll learn that Cloud was not a first-class SOLDIER but a low-ranking guard.
After all those explanations, the five Clouds emerge into one. Tifa has done it! Cloud is cured, and the two head back to the surface and awaken amidst your other allies in Mideel, which is totally trashed.
Back in the Operation Room of the Highwind, Cloud apologizes to everyone for his illusionary lies. Afterwards, form a party and save the game, so you won't have to go through that long flashback again. Manage all the equippings, then head over to Junon.
